Lusaka

If you have ever wanted to see crocodiles, the majestic Victoria Falls, a lively and welcoming city like Lusaka or Livingstone and true devotion to football; Zambia is your place.

Trip Summary

Join the third half as we take you to Southern Africa to experience Zambia’s rugged terrain, diverse wildlife, mesmerising wilderness and incredibly warm and generous people.

From the jaw-dropping spectacle of Victoria Falls on the border with Zimbabwe – described by CNN as “One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World” – to the bustling markets of Lusaka and Livingstone to the beautiful national parks where elephants and crocodiles roam, Zambia offers a variety of breathtaking experiences without the crowds of other African destinations.

Zambia is also a country facing many social challenges including high youth unemployment, urban and rural poverty and an HIV and AIDS pandemic that has left many children orphaned. Recently, the country’s economy has started to grow and you’ll work with a local organization that is using soccer to provide opportunities and education to a new generation.

Zambia is hugely passionate about soccer and has a proud history in the game. Kalusha Bwalya, a star in European soccer in the 90s, is a national hero and people still talk about the tragic 1993 plane crash that wiped out what is regarded as the finest-ever Zambian national team. You’ll experience this passion first-hand as you play soccer with local coaches and kids on the beach, in the streets and on local fields.
