Join the third half as we take you to Southern Africa to experience Zambia’s rugged terrain, diverse wildlife, mesmerising wilderness and incredibly warm and generous people.

From the jaw-dropping spectacle of Victoria Falls on the border with Zimbabwe – described by CNN as “One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World” – to the bustling markets of Lusaka and Livingstone to the beautiful national parks where elephants and crocodiles roam, Zambia offers a variety of breathtaking experiences without the crowds of other African destinations.

Zambia is also a country facing many social challenges including high youth unemployment, urban and rural poverty and an HIV and AIDS pandemic that has left many children orphaned. Recently, the country’s economy has started to grow and you’ll work with a local organization that is using soccer to provide opportunities and education to a new generation.

Zambia is hugely passionate about soccer and has a proud history in the game. Kalusha Bwalya, a star in European soccer in the 90s, is a national hero and people still talk about the tragic 1993 plane crash that wiped out what is regarded as the finest-ever Zambian national team. You’ll experience this passion first-hand as you play soccer with local coaches and kids on the beach, in the streets and on local fields.

This destination offers a range of soccer activities that we can use to create experiences from BEGINNER to ELITE  level.

Experiences available include*;

  • Play pick up soccer with local coaches and kids
  • Train with local male/female U14 and U18 teams at the University of Zambia
  • Help local coaches deliver CBSA’s ‘Girls for Change’ female empowerment program
  • Help deliver CBSA’s Youth Development through Football curriculum to local kids

“When i work with my team in the communities, i embrace the power of ‘ubuntu’, a philosophy which demonstrates the power we collectively have to make a meaningful change to the less privileged – our only rewards are smiles.”

Local Host

Your trip will be hosted by the respected non-profit organization Chiparamba Breakthrough Sports Academy (CBSA).

CBSA creates sporting opportunities for all children, not just those with athletic ability to teach important life skills. The organization also organises soccer programs and HIV education for boys and girls living in refugee camps near the borders with Burundi, Rwanda and DRC and has created a ‘WASH’ league to provide access to clean water and sanitation through the power of soccer.

Thanks to your visit, Chiparamba Breakthrough Sports Academy (CBSA) will be able to achieve goals like;

  • Supporting the organization’s Bringing Rural Youth Towards Equality (BRYTE) program
  • Supporting an HIV/AIDs education program for youth aged 10-18 living in refugee camps
  • Building a well to provide fresh water to children living in a local orphanage.
