LESOTHO

Help teach orphans and vulnerable children about HIV/AIDS through the power of soccer

The Kingdom of Lesotho is a tiny but incredibly beautiful country hidden high in the mountains above South Africa. The proud nation boasts a rich cultural heritage and dramatic scenery; including some of the highest waterfalls in the world.

The country is also one of the poorest in the world and suffers from one of the highest HIV/AIDS infection rates on the planet.

Almost 25% of the population is HIV positive and over 130,000 children have been orphaned by the disease, which has had a devastating impact on family and community structures and held back the nation’s economic development.

During your 14-day LESOTHO experience you will:

  • Play friendly soccer matches in front of thousands of fans in unforgettable locations.
  • Help deliver vital health and education services to vulnerable young boys and girls.
  • Experience the natural beauty of Africa including pony-trekking, campfire nights, and waterfall treks.
  • Make friendships that will last a lifetime.

Profits from each of the third half experiences will be invested into Kick4Life. Thanks to your visit, Kick4Life will be able to achieve goals such as:

  • 1000 children tested for HIV through Kick4Life’s innovative ‘Test Your Team’ program. Any child testing positive will be referred to free counseling and potentially life-saving treatment.
  • 30 orphans and vulnerable children receive a year’s worth of intensive and holistic mentoring and support including health, education, nutrition, housing, and access to sport.
  • 150 orphans and vulnerable children complete a six-week health education and life-skills course enabling them to live a safer and more productive life.
